Honor and Remember's May Memorial Marathon is a 24/7 event that creates an unbroken chain of runners, walkers, and riders to remember our fallen heroes throughout the entire (and we mean the entire) month of May! Here's how it works: at least one committed runner with sneakers on the ground runs every minute every day for 31 days in honor of our fallen heroes. Think of it as a virtual relay - a one-time slot participant handing off to the next in a contiguous tribute chain. Our goal is to fill every available time slot for the entire 31 days. That's 744 hours of boots (or sneakers) on the ground to remember our nation's heroes. Here's How May Memorial Marathon Works:
First, Register For Your Time Slot(s): Book your 30-minute time slot(s) to run, walk, or ride on our calendar. Please book multiple slots! Then, we'll post your name as a committed runner for that time slot on our calendar. Select "Login" or "Create An Account." Go to "Add Slots" to pick your days/times (the calendar is set in EST). You may also click on the calendar day to select. If you usually run, walk, or bike every day, take this month and commit to it multiple times. Don't just take one! We need to fill every slot for every minute of the entire month. Once a day turns green, all slots are filled.
Next, Create Your Fundraising Page:(optional) Once you register for your time slot(s), you'll get an email with a link to create your fundraising page. Then, share your custom fundraising page on social media. You'll get an exclusive May Memorial Marathon T-Shirt or Honor and Remember Flag Runner's Medal when you total $150 in donations while supplies last.

How does it work? Sign up to run, walk, bike or ride for 30 minutes– you pick the day and the best time for you. Your name will then be posted on our calendar as a committed runner for that time slot(s). We ask that you decide on heroes from your area and we will post that info as well. What we are creating is an unbroken relay chain of remembrance.
Who can I run for? Run for any fallen hero you know. You can select someone from your hometown or find someone on our list of heroes. Most importantly, say their names out loud as you participate! You can also participate as a team, company, family, or group. HEROES SEARCH.
Can I run more than one slot? - Absolutely, however, we would like to involve as many individuals as possible. That means having committed participants every half-hour for a total of 1488 half hours. If you would like to run from 3-3:00 am every day all month then sign up that way.
What if my desired time slot is taken? - Just because a time slot has someone's name does not mean you can't add yours in that spot. There are 200 open slots per day and 37,000 for the month - our goal is to fill each one with at least one participant! The more runners, the more heroes that are remembered.
Is there a cost to participate? - There is no cost or minimum fundraising amount to participate, but we encourage all runners to raise a minimum of $100. Share your fundraising link on social media with friends and family, your company, and more - but again, there is no cost to participate in this event.

Carry an HR flag, fly one off your bike, and wear a shirt or hat! We have created a special runner's medal and May Memorial Marathon t-shirt that will be sent to runners when their first donation comes in. Please note that we have a very limited quantity, and this promotion is while supplies last.
